Movie Story
“Unpregnant” is a heartfelt comedy-drama that follows the story of Veronica Clarke (Haley Lu Richardson), a 17-year-old high school student whose life is turned upside down when she discovers she is unexpectedly pregnant. Veronica is a straight-A student with dreams of attending an Ivy League college, but her unplanned pregnancy threatens to derail those plans. Unable to access an abortion in her home state due to restrictive laws, Veronica decides to travel over 900 miles to New Mexico, where she can legally obtain the procedure without parental consent.

With no one else to turn to, Veronica reluctantly enlists the help of her former best friend, Bailey Butler (Barbie Ferreira), a rebellious and free-spirited girl she has grown apart from over the years. What begins as a straightforward road trip quickly turns into a wild and unpredictable adventure as the two girls encounter a series of strange and comedic obstacles along the way, from a fanatical anti-abortion couple to a kind-hearted trucker (Giancarlo Esposito) who helps them in their time of need.

As the journey unfolds, Veronica and Bailey reconnect and rediscover the deep bond they once shared. The film balances its humor with moments of genuine emotion, addressing important issues like reproductive rights, friendship, and the pressures faced by young women. Haley Lu Richardson and Barbie Ferreira deliver standout performances, bringing depth and authenticity to their characters.
