Movie Story
“Out of Death” is a tense action thriller that follows the story of Shannon Mathers (Jaime King), a woman who inadvertently becomes the target of corrupt cops while hiking in the remote wilderness. The film begins with Shannon taking a solitary hike to scatter her father’s ashes in the woods. However, her peaceful trip takes a dark turn when she witnesses a drug deal gone wrong and captures it on camera. This act draws the attention of a group of corrupt police officers led by Billie Stanhope (Lala Kent), who will stop at nothing to cover up their criminal activities.
As Shannon tries to escape the dangerous situation, she crosses paths with Jack Harris (Bruce Willis), a retired cop who has been living a quiet life in a cabin in the woods. Jack, mourning the recent loss of his wife, reluctantly agrees to help Shannon after realizing the gravity of the situation. Together, they must outsmart and outmaneuver the corrupt officers who are hunting them down.
The film’s narrative is driven by a series of cat-and-mouse chases through the dense wilderness, with Shannon and Jack relying on their wits and survival skills to evade their pursuers. As the tension mounts, the film explores themes of justice, survival, and redemption. Jack, who is grappling with his own demons, finds a renewed sense of purpose as he fights to protect Shannon and expose the truth.
“Out of Death” is a straightforward action thriller that delivers plenty of suspense and gritty violence. Bruce Willis brings his trademark stoic presence to the role of Jack, while Jaime King portrays Shannon as a determined and resourceful woman thrust into a deadly situation. The film’s setting in the remote wilderness adds to the tension, creating a claustrophobic atmosphere where danger lurks around every corner.
Special Effects
The film relies on practical effects to create its action sequences, including shootouts, explosions, and hand-to-hand combat. The outdoor setting is used effectively to heighten the sense of isolation and danger, with the natural landscape serving as both a refuge and a threat.

“Out of Death” had a limited release, primarily reaching audiences through digital and on-demand platforms. The film received largely negative reviews, with criticism directed at its predictable plot, pacing, and lack of character development, though some viewers appreciated the action sequences and Bruce Willis’s presence.

Final Verdict
“Out of Death” is a by-the-numbers action thriller that offers some moments of suspense and gritty action, but ultimately falls short due to its predictable plot and lack of depth. While Bruce Willis and Jaime King give solid performances, the film doesn’t break new ground in the genre and may only appeal to die-hard fans of straightforward action fare. It’s a watchable but forgettable entry in the action thriller genre.
