Movie Story
“Guest House” is a raunchy comedy that centers around the chaotic life of Blake Renner (Mike Castle) and Sarah Masters (Aimee Teegarden), a young couple who believe they’ve found their dream home. However, the dream quickly turns into a nightmare when they discover that the house comes with an unexpected permanent resident—Randy Cockfield (Pauly Shore), a freeloading party animal living in the guest house.

Randy is the ultimate bad tenant, turning the couple’s life upside down with his wild antics, non-stop partying, and complete disregard for their attempts to start their life together. As Blake and Sarah try to evict Randy, they find themselves caught in an escalating battle of wills that leads to one outrageous situation after another. From property damage to run-ins with the law, every attempt to get rid of Randy backfires in spectacular fashion.

The film is packed with slapstick humor, crude jokes, and over-the-top scenarios that showcase Pauly Shore in his element as the irreverent and unapologetic Randy. As tensions rise, Blake and Sarah’s relationship is put to the test, forcing them to navigate the chaos while trying to hold onto their sanity and each other.

“Guest House” is a throwback to the zany comedies of the 80s and 90s, filled with absurd situations and colorful characters. It doesn’t shy away from pushing the boundaries of good taste, making it a movie that revels in its own ridiculousness.

Special Effects
The special effects in “Guest House” are primarily used to enhance the physical comedy and slapstick moments. From wild party scenes to exaggerated stunts, the film relies on practical effects and visual gags to deliver its humor. The production design of the guest house itself plays a significant role in the film, with its disheveled and chaotic appearance reflecting the character of Randy and the mayhem he brings.

Box Office Performance
“Guest House” was released during the COVID-19 pandemic and primarily reached its audience through digital platforms and on-demand services. Its performance was modest, appealing to fans of Pauly Shore and those looking for a lighthearted, escapist comedy.
