Movie Story
“Fear of Rain” follows the story of Rain Burroughs (Madison Iseman), a teenage girl struggling with schizophrenia. Rain’s life is a constant battle between her reality and the terrifying hallucinations that plague her daily life. Her parents, Michelle (Katherine Heigl) and John (Harry Connick Jr.), do their best to support her, but their concern often manifests as overprotection, further isolating Rain from the world.
The film takes a thrilling turn when Rain becomes convinced that her neighbor, Dani McConnell (Eugenie Bondurant), has kidnapped a young girl. However, due to her mental illness, no one believes her—not even her parents. Rain’s desperation to uncover the truth leads her to befriend Caleb (Israel Broussard), a mysterious and supportive classmate who may or may not be real.
As Rain delves deeper into her investigation, the line between reality and delusion becomes increasingly blurred. The tension builds as Rain must navigate her own mind to uncover the truth while questioning everything around her, including her new friend Caleb. The film masterfully balances psychological suspense with emotional depth, exploring themes of trust, the impact of mental illness, and the power of perception.
